Monday – Friday
ID’s daily morning class provides a professional learning environment to support mindful curiosity and physical intelligence in movement research. Leading UK-based and international artists draw from a unique amalgamation of their experiences in dance and other body-mind practices. With a focus on movement explorations that attend to what movement feels like, rather than imitating an ideal form, classes are accessible to all. The classes embody an ethos of questioning, extending notions of what dance can be and for whom.
Each week is led by a different teacher who brings their own unique practice and approach. You can choose to attend one or two classes, or do a week as a series – it’s up to you.
The format of classes will change week by week. We are following news and guidelines closely and anticipate change; for this reason we are only opening classes to booking a week at a time at the moment.
This Summer term, we are revisiting some online resources and class recordings from the past year. This is for the first 5 weeks of term, while MA/MFA Creative Practice takes place. In the second half of term, we are really delighted to welcome Seke Chimutengwende as guest curator. About Seke’s curation:
Ways of being: approaches to choreographic practice
Five artists bring choreographic practices, materials and questions into the frame of the morning class. Taking choreography as way of being in the world, an approach to living, moving and thinking, each artist will offer an embodied insight into their past, present and future choreographic processes.
Seke’s line-up will be announced soon.
Morning Classes are intended for experienced movement practitioners. All classes are open to people of all physicalities; if you would like to discuss any access requirements with ID in advance however, please get in touch.
