Monday Night Improvisation

Monday Night Improvisation

Improvised dance is about exploring the movement potential of our bodies and the creative potential of our minds.

As well as enjoying the movement facility already available to you, Monday Night Improvisation teachers use exercises to broaden your physical and mental range. They create an atmosphere where work and play co-exist and where watching and talking support your dancing.

Classes provide an opportunity to explore the vast array of approaches to improvisation available. Each week is led by a different teacher who brings their own unique approach, each influenced or inspired by forms such as Action Theater, Butoh, Contact Improvisation, Feldenkrais, Skinner Releasing Technique, Tango, Eastern Bodywork Principles, Amerta Movement, Alexander Technique, and BMC.

In the Autumn 2020 season, the format of classes will change week by week and will include outdoor classes, live classes in the studio with reduced capacity, live online sessions, and blended formats combining live+online. We will share full details of the format of each class through weekly e-flyers and on our social media. You can also follow each artist’s link below for more info.
