A solitary journey into the treacherous landscape of low temperature with nothing more than the pages of an absurdist script as a map.

In 2011 ID hosted Janine Harrington as a Performing Arts Fellow to support her development as a choreographer and enable her to focus on establishing the next steps in her career.

“The strength of the BBC PAF Fellowship scheme is that you work together with your host organisation to create a bespoke package of support, depending on what you need and what can be offered. What ID supports well is a climate of independent research, and sign-posting routes for further development.”

Having witnessed the value and benefit this fund offers to an individual, ID is thrilled to be hosting a fellow again in 2015: Antonio de la Fe is an independent artist whose inventive and generous practice made him a stand-out candidate from the 40 applications we received.

The Fellowship allows Antonio to deepen the research necessary to develop and deliver the work he has started with his ‘Unrehearsed Series’ performances.
The award affords him breathing space to refine his own process, through various forms of active practice in the studio, and engagement with ID artists whose practice resonates with his enquiry. He will have the opportunity to research the work of others who have dealt with similar artistic questions before him, and let that inform his practice.
Concurrently, guidance and support will enable him to extend his networks and profile, to present his work on a wider platform. He is working with Rosemary Lee and producer Nikki Tomlinson as mentors, as well as with the ID team.

To date, Antonio has shared an in-progress version of his new work Make Me Cool at a Feedback Forum; he has led morning class based on his OPENLAB practice, alongside taking part in the ID programme and performing and developing the Unrehearsed Series works.
