Sharing Knowledge as artistic practice with Nik Haffner
Choreographer and ex-dancer with the Forsythe Company, Nik will focus on collaborations and the idea of shared knowledge/shared material; how the dissemination of knowledge and the feeding of thoughts/ideas into networks can be seen as an artistic practice with examples from his own recent projects.
After studying dance at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne, I was a dancer with William Forsythe/ Ballet Frankfurt from 1994 until 2000. Now a freelance dancer/ choreographer, I am making work for stage, film and exhibition. Since the contribution to the CD-ROM Improvisation Technologies, I have been artist in residence regularly at ZKM, Centre for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe, where I collaborated with artists of both visual and acoustic media. As of October 2008 I am visiting professor at the HZT Dance Education Centre in Berlin.
