About these sessions
These choreographic feedback studio sessions are an opportunity for professional choreographers to show work at any stage in its process, in order to get appropriate feedback to help in the process of developing the work.
You decide on the day who will show first, and the 'audience' sit anywhere within the space according to your needs. From snippets of material you are investigating through to previewing a piece soon to be performed, these sessions are yours to be used in the most useful and appropriate way. So that you gain feedback within a safe, supportive environment, you are responsible for inviting the audience you wish to share your work with and ID can extend the invitation to our regular participants if you so choose.
There is a maximum of two artists per session to give time for feedback
between each showing and reservations to show work are booked on a first-come,
first-served basis, subject to availability of studio space. The work
must not exceed 20 minutes in duration, and be suitable for showing
in a studio context. There is no restriction to the form of work that
is shown, but please be aware that these sessions are not appropriate
as promotional performance events due to limited technical and staff
Feedback Forum sessions are programmed in response to demand in return for a small contribution towards the cost of the space. Facilitation of the sessions is led by either Fiona Millward, Sally Dean or Kathy Crick depending on availability, and follows the system of feedback devised by Liz Lerman. You will be asked to think about the areas of discussion you would like to open up when receiving feedback, any particular questions you have, and what interests you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries about Feedback Forum.
