The Gill Clarke Resources Fund

This 1-year fund provided dance artists on a low income with tangible resources they required for their professional development and research, such as books, journals, DVDs, or music.

The Gill Clarke Resources Fund was set up with the advance on royalties from the sales of Turn Your F^*king Head, a DVD resource about Deborah Hay’s Solo Performance Commissioning Project. It is named for Gill Clarke, one of the key artists who developed Independent Dance into the organisation it is today.
It was made possible by the generosity of Deborah Hay, and through the work of Fiona Millward and Becky Edmunds.

There were three rounds, between July 2015 and April 2016, and the fund supported 17 artists in total.

Each of those 17 artists was asked to provide a reflection, of whatever nature, about the materials they received. To read them please visit the awards page.
