Hagit will teach a creative class, which is a combination of her choreographic approach with Dance Movement Therapy principles and method through different sets of improvisation. The class is very dynamic, and it challenges the participants physically, and emotionally. In the improvisation tasks the dancers are led to work with memories, sensations, and emotions. There is an emphasis on exploring ‘authentic movement’ (a term in Dance Movement Therapy, which means a personal, natural, and sensational movement each one of us has). It involves a lot partner works (in contact improvisation, and through watching and witnessing) and it encourages sharing and open dialogues.
Hagit interests lie in autobiography and in giving expression to emotions and inter-human relations. The autobiographical approach that she follows in my choreographic and creative work involves such concepts as ‘the self’; and the self in relations to others.
