Through hands-on activities, moving/dancing, drawing/writing the class is a journey through the anatomical landscapes of the body. The aim is to create a space in which each mover develops one's own interpretation of the tasks offered. By understanding the personal need in each given moment, the invitation is to satisfy the individual curiosity for movement.
We will explore sensing as discovering, moving as a tool for learning and reflecting, dancing as both rest and a highly dynamic activity. The main fields of exploration are: Experiential Anatomy, Authentic Movement and Improvisation. If the weather allows, classes will include outdoors activities to encourage links between the environment and the living body.
We will explore the use of restrictions, constraints and structured problems as tools for finding ease, freedom, new patterns and greater possibilities in our improvised movement choices. The Feldenkrais Method ® taps the innate intelligence of the human nervous system to produce higher levels of function and movement ability.
