Description:

Yoga and The Patterns Behind How We Practice

‘...I feel the sun itself as it blazes over the hills, like a million flowers on fire - clearly I am not needed yet I feel myself turning into something of inexplicable value...’ - Mary Oliver

This week of morning classes will river along a process that starts with exploring the patterns we make for front bending and back bending and then will move towards exploring the patterns that have a diagonal and spiral dynamic.

Ample time will be made for asana practice while at the same time learning to sense patterns in yourself and others.

Time will be given to self exploration as well as some exploration with others. Depending on the nature of the group present and questions time can be given also to theory of movement and discussion.

Patterns are not always problems. Patterns can also be resourceful. Patterns can be rivers of information that are about relationships. Patterns can help us connect our structure (the obvious body) to our capacity to be coordinated, to perceive and to create or stumble on meaning as we move from old to new patterns.

These classes will share practice with artists undertaking the new MA in Creative Practice; numbers will be limited, arrive early to guarantee your place.
