Bettina Carpi

Class Description

Bettina teaches a release based class focusing on breath and weight, opening of joints and articulation as well as being able to move fluently between different dynamics and intentions. Bettina is particularly interested in how we can move with clarity and intention and how we can access a wide range of qualities, sensations and textures in the body.
This class aims to be inclusive.

Biography

Bettina is from Bern, Switzerland and trained at London School of Contemporary Dance.

Since graduating in 1999 she has worked as a freelance artist for various choreographers and companies and was a member of CandoCo Dance Company for eight years, creating, performing, touring and teaching nationally and internationally.

More recently Bettina has been working closely with Marc Brew as rehearsal director and assistant as well as performing in his outdoor piece Nocturne. Since 2011 Bettina has performed for Arthur Pita in a number of productions, most notably in his award-winning dance theatre production of Metamorphosis.

Bettina is currently a visiting lecturer at Chester University and is engaged in the development of her own work.
