Alexandra Baybutt

Class Description | Morning Class | 27 February - 3 March 2017

Alexandra draws from various tools from the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System, somatic practices and her on-going research into movement and sound relations. Explorations will include listening to inner impulse, increasing choices in one's kinesphere to work with deliberate instability spatially and deliberate limitations to inform spontaneous composition. Her performance practice involves improvisation with sound, site and sculptural costume.

Monday Night Improvisation |6 March 2017

Class is informed by Alexandra's varied creative practice and her rich training in and teaching of Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban's Space Harmony. These are led through improvisation, guided tasks and icosahedral movement scales - the kind rarely found outside of specialist Laban training contexts. Come and dance together, share kinespheres and work with your connectivity.
